OUR SUMMER SCHEDULE

             Children 1-3 years and a cargiver: Our Time -  reflects the emotional foundations of school readiness and the latest research on music and early childhood development. A unique opportunity for parent and child to interact and learn together in an unhurried and joyful manner. CREATURES AT THE OCEAN (June): Sing sailor songs and make the ocean count. "Five little seashells lying on the shore: Swish! Went the waves and then there were four." Make homemade kites .ZOO TRAIN (July): Toddlers and trains make a natural match—always on the move. Tag along this summer with a traveling zoo train. and learn songs about animals in the zoo. Home Materials:  Music CD,  picture cards or story books, and an instrument for each curriculum.   Limit 12 children, each with their caregiver attending 1 day per week for 45 minutes for 15 weeks.

       Children  3-5 year olds:   Adventures -  Each week provides preschoolers one uninterrupted hour  of imaginative play that's guided in a very specific, sequential way—with a special sharing time with parents in the last 15 minutes of class.  TELL ME A TALE(June): Through storytelling, children will develop an early awareness of rhythm, movement, singing, and drama. Each lesson features a new tale from around the world, explored through multi-instrument and multi-cultural elements. All told, it’s an around-the-imagination adventure of the greatest stories from Europe, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.  ON THE ROAD(July): Re-live your childhood, with your child. Every song is likely to revive a memory from your summers’ past. Play “Eye Spy” and find shapes in the clouds to pass the time. Take imaginary trips in a bus named “Van Go” to fun-filled vacation destinations such as the carnival, a summer cottage, and the beach.   Home Materials: Story book, music CD, and  instrument for each curriculym.

     Children 5-7 year olds: Young Child - Students who have completed the second semester of Young Child will continue learning to read music notation and play songs on their glockenspiel.  Children ages 5-6 interested in learing to read music who have not already taken Young Child, may join this class in the fall.  Time and day to be determined and announced in the Young Child 2 class.

         Family Time - multi-age family class: For families with children newborn - 6 years old.  45 minutes once a week for 4 weeks.  MARVELOUS ME(June):This month we’ll cover pattern games and body awareness from head to toe. In class we’ll listen for patterns and repeated phrases in the music, which develops your child’s early math skills and self-esteem. When you play the same pattern seeking games at home that we played in class, your toddler’s confidence and skill building will grow.  LET"S PLAY (July): we’ll play “Follow the Leader” and other playground games to help your toddler develop listening and singing skills while strengthening movement and hand-eye coordination.    Home Materials: Music CD, Magazine style Family Guide, and instrument for each curriculum.
 

    Weather closing policy:

    If Springboro schools are closed, No Morning Kindermusik classes that day.

  Cancellation of evening classes will be determined as the day progresses.
